The 32nd annual CROP Hunger Walk will take place on Sunday, Oct. 16. This community event raises money in the fight against hunger. A quarter of all funds raised on the Vineyard will benefit Island Food Pantry and the Vineyard Committee on Hunger. Over the past 31 years, MV CROP has raised $599,700, with $134,500 donated to local efforts.

The event begins at 1:30 p.m. and leaves from St. Augustine’s Church on Franklin street in Vineyard Haven. Participants will walk approximately three miles. A Walk Day Festival with music and food will be held at the church directly after the event.

For those who want to support the Vineyard’s efforts to alleviate hunger but will not be on-Island when the event takes place, a Walk a Thon option is also available.

Participants can register and set up fundraising pages online at crophungerwalk.org. For help, contact Libby Fielder at mvcropwalk@gmail.com or 703-424-3968.
