Glaura Paiva and Luke Laubscher were married on Sept. 17 at the West Chop Club.

Pastor Blaze Robertson officiated the ceremony at the Big Pier on a picture-perfect day.

Glaura is the daughter of Francismeiry Shintomi and grew up in Greenwich, Conn. She attended Syracuse University and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in inclusive elementary and special education, and Bank Street College of Education where she earned a master’s degree in literacy.

Luke is the son of Esme and Paul Laubscher of South Salem, N.Y. and Vineyard Haven. He attended Pennsylvania State University where he earned a bachelor of science degree in early childhood and elementary education. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in independent school leadership from George Mason University.

Glaura and Luke met as teachers at the Greenwich Country Day School (GCDS) in Greenwich, Conn.

Glaura is a head teacher for third grade and Luke is a head teacher for fourth grade at GCDS.

They were engaged on Katama Beach in August 2021 and were delighted to return to Martha’s Vineyard to celebrate their wedding day.
