The first community meeting of the Chappy Ferry Nonprofit Corporation (CFNC) experienced technical difficulties with the hybrid Zoom. But still, progress was made toward the goal of ferry ownership and operation by the whole of Chappaquiddickers.

Paul O’Donnell — the leader of the effort — reports that many ideas and concerns were expressed by the 40 in-person attenders and the 55 Zoom-ins. The theme of the meeting was the recognition that “we are all in the same boat.” Paul calls this a great opportunity for the community to work together to take ferry matters into their own hands but that active participation is needed to be successful.

A follow-up meeting is planned for Saturday, Feb. 11 to discuss progress with incorporating, community feedback and fleshing out the founding board of directors. Please send your ideas, comments and willingness to volunteer to chappyferrync@gmail.com.
