Please take note that the Rabies Clinic will take place on Saturday, March 18, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the safety building on State Road in West Tisbury. The cost is $25 cash or check. All dogs must be leashed and cats in carriers.

We have no adoptions to report this week, but we do have an amazing rabbit in need of a home. Stanley is two and half years old. He’s neutered and is black with white paws and a white chest. He was hand-raised, making him exceptionally friendly. He’s litter box-trained, free roaming, will sit in your lap but, like most rabbits, does not enjoy being held. If you’re in the market for a bunny you can’t go wrong with Stanley.

At the moment we still have only one cat available for adoption. Alice, a two-year old, torbi and white cat has matured into a really lovely yet funny girl who is extremely affectionate and playful. She adores people and is a good lap sitter, but would do best with an experienced cat owner since she believes that she’s the queen of the castle. She’s tolerant of dogs but not cats; she wants it all for herself. Although the staff has fallen in love with Alice and will miss her, we would be willing to let her go to the right home.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours. The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662.
