Celebrate Earth Day with the Chappy roadside clean-up on Saturday, April 22. Meet at the Chappy Community Center at 9:30 a.m. to get bags, gloves and marching orders. Drop the bags back off at the community center between 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. 

The annual spring clean-up at Mytoi garden is only two weekends away. Join The Trustees of Reservations staff and other volunteers for the Wake Up the Garden Clean-Up on Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Help pull winter’s blanket off and welcome spring to the garden. More details are on the Mytoi page of the Trustees’ website at thetrustees.org.

The Norton Point breach continues to move very slowly eastward, which gives the Atlantic Ocean plenty of time to erode the Wasque bluffs. One of the rear property markers of the Wacks’ now-vacant house lot was six feet from the precipice on Sunday. It’s probably in the water now. The entire footprint of the house has been swept away. All that remains of human habitation are the electrical service transformer pad and scattered bunches of tulips and daffodils.

At town meeting on Tuesday night, residents voted in favor of article 27. It read, “To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from Free Cash the sum of $50,000.00 to conduct an analysis of potential governance options for the future disposition of the Chappaquiddick Ferry in order to ensure the ferry service remains effective and efficient in its service of the community.” The money becomes available on July 1.
