My friends Norma Sigelman, T.J. Hagerty and Albert O. Fischer report seeing their first hummingbirds of the season. A friend asked me if I have seen any orioles yet. I have not but I did see a bee. More to come.

Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish had some very successful shows off-Island last weekend. We are looking forward to seeing more of him on-Island.

Gretchen Baer had an accident last weekend in Bisbee, Ariz. She broke her toe and had to cancel the border wall painting from her Studio Mariposa art students on Monday. She is already back and rarin’ to go.

Sammy Jo BenDavid returned from a short hospital trip with her new baby, Zoe. The check-up went well. They are happy at home.

My grandson Dominic Clark had another play, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical, at his high school. This time he was not the star but part of the stage crew. He is learning all aspects of theatre. His parents Chris and Lilly Clark attended a matinee last weekend.

I am sad to tell you that Derrick Jenkins of West Tisbury and New Jersey died on April 14 in New Jersey. Derrick was the kindest man I ever met. Our condolences to his wife Andrea, their children and friends.

The birthday bandwagon pulled along Jessica Cabanillas and Janice Headley on April 22. April 24 was a party for Bunny Alfano Wilson, Crispin Hawkins and Patty Nichols Lima’s son Justin, aka Judd. On April 25 Lorraine Clark and Sarah Codding took the cake. Many happy returns.
