The Beach Road Weekend music festival has announced 10 new performers for their lineup this summer, joining headliners Mumford and Sons, Bon Iver and Leon Bridges for the three-day music festival at Veterans Park this August.

Renowned punk rocker and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Patti Smith tops the list of new festival acts, along with a variety of indie acts including Dispatch, Caamp, Sammy Rae and the Friends, Dinosaur Jr., Maggie Rose, Crooked Coast, Cory Wong, Twiddle and Neighbor.

“This really fleshes out our lineup,” said festival founder Adam Epstein. Both Caamp and Dispatch are returning festival performers, while Sammy Rae will perform for the first time after her scheduled appearance last year was cancelled due to rain.

Mr. Epstein also emphasized the local, Massachusetts roots of many of the performers, as well as his excitement over Patti Smith’s performance.

“I’ve been working on getting Patti Smith to perform here since I started,” he said. “It really means a lot to me personally.”

This year’s festival is scheduled to take place from Aug. 25-27, with tickets available at beachroadweekend.com.
