The Chappy Point to Point foot race will be run on Sunday, June 25 between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Beware of runners on the road all of the way from Wasque down to the ferry point.
The race website is chock full of information. However, at the moment of this writing, the fundraising raffle is not included. The list of prizes includes a half-day guided fishing trip with Kismet Outfitters, valued at $550; a Chilmark Cherry 16-inch wooden bowl from Chappaquiddick Wood Co., valued at $675; a $200 gift certificate from Détente; a flower share from Slip Away Farm, valued at $335; a $150 gift certificate from Woodley and Lowe; a gift bag from Martha’s Vineyard Cheesery, valued at $100; and a gift certificate from Vineyard Vines. In addition, each winner will receive a voucher for a dozen cookies from the Chappy Chip Company.
Raffle tickets are $10 each or seven for $50 and will be sold at bib pick-up at Memorial Wharf on June 24 and at Chappy Point on June 35. The drawing will be held after the awards ceremony at the conclusion of the race. You don’t have to be present to win.

The Pied Piper ferry between Falmouth and Edgartown is now operating on a daily schedule. On Fridays, the last trip to Edgartown leaves Falmouth at 7 p.m. The last trip out of Edgartown on Sunday is at 7:15 p.m. Google falmouthedgartownferry — all one word works best — to book tickets on ine.
The Pied Piper ferry boat ties up at Memorial Wharf right next to the Chappy Ferry. If you don’t need to bring a car to the Islands, this is the ideal way to get yourself or your guests to Chappaquiddick.
Mark your calendars for two important events on Saturdays in July. Hazardous household materials collection on July 15 and the annual Chappaquiddick Island Association meeting on July 22.
Also, keep in mind that on the Fourth of July, Chappy Ferry service is curtailed for vehicles during the parade and fireworks. The ferry stops carrying vehicles at 4:15 p.m. until about an hour after the tail end of the procession passes the top of Daggett street. Foot passengers are carried during that time.
