We are delighted to report that Andy, the gray cat, has found his forever home and Rhodey, the orange tabby, has found his new family as well. Good news all around.
We do not have a pet of the week but we are looking for the owner of a young — under a year old — female cat that might be a seal point, Himalayan mix. Her distinguishing features are her golden eyes and white paws. She was found hanging out near Beaten Path in West Tisbury.
If this is your cat, or you know who her owner is, please contact the shelter so she can return to home. She is being called Lily and she is not available for adoption at this time.
Please come out and see the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard float in the Christmas in Edgartown parade on Dec. 9. The parade begins at 11 a.m. and if you’d like to march with us please contact the shelter for more details.
Saturday, Dec. 16 is the date of the next visit from All Pets Medical Center. If you would like to schedule an appointment for your pet, please contact them at 508-743-8338.
We’d also like to remind everyone that hunting season continues through the end of the year. Remember to wear bright colors when walking in the woods and keep your dogs leashed. And please stay out of wooded areas around dawn and dusk.
Did you know? If anyone comes to the shelter with a hardship case, we will provide them with food for their pet. We also donate pet food to the Island Food Pantry.
Looking for a gift for the person or people who have everything? Please consider making a donation to the shelter in their name/s. It’s the perfect gift for any occasion.
The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular Shelter hours.
