We couldn’t be happier: mother-daughter Great Danes, Astra and Ursa, have been adopted together by a family that adores Danes. Looks like they’ve found their forever home.
Our pet of the week is Pepper, a nine-month-old plott hound. Plotts are an active breed of dog so we’re looking for an active family for this puppy. This girl is very sweet and very smart so training her should be a breeze. She is currently in a foster home so please contact the shelter if you would like to set up an appointment to meet her.
If you’d prefer a cat, we still have Benny, an eight-year-old rag doll mix who inherited those beautiful blue eyes. We’re looking for a special angel for Benny as he suffers from diabetes and needs daily insulin injections. However, he is a charming fellow who enjoys playing, he’s affectionate and quite the purrer.
Saturday, March 9 is the date of our annual rabies clinic. It runs from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the West Tisbury safety building located on State Road. The cost is $25 cash or check. All dogs must be leashed and cats in carriers. We hope to see you there.
Save the date for the next nail clinic, which will take place on Saturday, April 6 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.; walks-ins only, $20 cash or check. And March 23 is the date of the next visit by All Pets Medical Center. If you would like to schedule an appointment for your pet please contact them at 508-743-8338.
We are also looking for jewelry donations for our annual Garden Party. We will accept any type of jewelry in any condition. Donations should be dropped off at the shelter during business hours.
The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit.
