West Tisbury will have a new town accountant as of April 1, after the town voted to appointed Island resident Chelsea Joiner to succeed longtime town accountant Bruce Stone, following his retirement. 

“I appreciate everybody’s time during the interview and for extending the offer. I’m really excited to start,” Ms. Joiner said, at a select board meeting on March 6. 

Ms. Joiner previously served as an auditing manager at a D.C. based nonprofit, Universal Service Administrative.

Mr. Stone was in the town accountant role for 20 years, and will remain on staff until June to help with the transition.
