The Chappy Ferry Steering Committee met Thursday, May 30 at 4 p.m. On the agenda were an update on the resiliency study by the sea level rise adaption group, a recommendation that the town apply for a grant to purchase a third ferry, a recommendation that the town perform an impact analysis on ferry traffic and an update on legal review of the ferry license.

The Chappaquiddick Island Association hosted a single-issue meeting on Thursday. Darci Schofield from The Trustees of Reservations introduced the new TTOR Chappy representative, Joseph McLaughlin. 

The running of the sixth annual Chappy foot race will be on Sunday June 30. Google Chappy Point to Point 2024 for information. This year, proceeds from the race will be used to fund Chappy Connect, a transportation service for older Chappy residents. Lynn Martinka (lmartinka@hotmail.com) is collecting names of volunteers for race day.

The Falmouth to Edgartown passenger ferry service will be operating Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for the next three weekends. The last ferry to Edgartown on Friday nights leaves Falmouth at 6:30 p.m. The last ferry on Sunday leaves Memorial Wharf at 5:15 p.m. Daily service begins Friday June 21 with more and later departures. See their website to choose a trip time and to buy your ticket online. Former Chappy Ferry captain Nick Tew is often the captain of the Pied Piper.

The weekly outdoor Edgartown Village Market will start the season on Tuesday, June 18 in the lower garden at the Daniel Fisher house. Products and creations from farmers, bakers, artisans and fishermen will be offered. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this year.
