The Martha’s Vineyard chapter of the NAACP is sponsoring a creative arts contest for Vineyard students in grades K-12

The theme of the Marie B. Allen Juneteenth Creative Arts Contest is “Jubilee,” to reflect the joyous emancipation of African Americans from bondage.

Essays, artwork and other theme-related creations are all eligible. Entries should be submitted to naacpmvbranch@gmail.com no later than Friday, June 14. Marie B. Allen died in 2023 and the contest is dedicated to her memory. Ms. Allen was passionate about civil rights from an early age. She served at the president of the MV NAACP in the mid-2000s.
