There are still tee times available for the community center golf tournament on Saturday, June 22. It’s a fundraiser for a very good cause! Lunch will be provided at the course. The next and probably last of the season potluck supper is on Wednesday, June 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. Bring your favorite dish to serve eight.

Now is the time to sign up for membership, classes, events and performances. All that can be done right on line. There are lots of activities planned and opportunities to get the kids and guests out of the house. Volunteers are needed for all of the events.

The Falmouth to Edgartown ferry will begin daily service on Friday, June 21. This weekend it’s just Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you want to save yourself the frustration of picking up house guests in Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs, this is the ferry they need to come over on. All they have to do is get out of their car at Falmouth Marine and walk a dozen steps to the Pied Piper dock. All you have to do is drive down to the point. Go to the Falmouth-Edgartown Ferry website to check the schedule and buy tickets.

The first weekly outdoor Edgartown Village Market of the season is on Tuesday, June 18 in the lower garden at the Daniel Fisher house in downtown Edgartown. It’s only a seven minute to walk up from the ferry. Products and creations from farmers, bakers, artisans and fishermen will be offered. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Edgartown Seafood will begin delivering fish to Chappy Point beginning Friday, June 21. The fish market is co-run by Chappy’s own DiMattia twins. Call 508-627-3791. They have a fabulous website.

The running of the sixth annual Chappy foot race will be on Sunday, June 30. Google Chappy Point to Point 2024 to find the runner and sponsor sign up website. This year, the race proceeds will be used to fund Chappy Connect, a transportation service for older Chappy residents. Lynn Martinka (lmartinka@hotmail.com) is collecting names of volunteers for race day.
