Chilmark voters approved allocating about $400,000 to various projects at a speedy special town meeting Monday evening.

A total of 34 residents voted in favor of moving $403,831.63 from the town’s general stabilization fund to establish a reserve fund for the finance committee, pay for repairs to town buildings and fund the first year of a 10-year facilities management plan.

Chilmark town officials called the special town meeting to clear up a process issue with the state. Under state law, voters must approve large money transfers.

The one-article warrant was amended slightly on the floor, the only real discussion item in the 10-minute meeting. Originally, an additional $30,000 was in the warrant for public accessibility improvements at Menemsha Beach.

A moment of silence was held for late town attorney Ron Rappaport.
