The illustrious life of Sidney Morris will be celebrated on Sunday, Oct. 13 starting at 5 p.m. at the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury. Refreshments and treats will be served.

The first Chappy Community Center (CCC) potluck supper of the season is on Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. Bring a dish to serve eight. A dessert of ice cream with all the fixings will be provided.

Yoga with Jay continues at the CCC on Sundays at 8:45 a.m.

The Slip Away Farm has started fall hours. The farm stand will be open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Edgartown animal control officer and life-long Chappaquiddicker Maddie LeCoq thanks Chappy dog owners in a Chappy Chat posting for a great summer, saying that everyone has been well behaved. Recently though, she has received calls about loose dogs on beaches and dogs running down dirt roads without a human following. She will be patrolling Chappy and writing citations if that behavior continues.

Remember, there is a leash law in Edgartown and that includes Chappy. You can reach her at 508-939-1782 with questions or comments or to report loose/lost dogs. Her concern is for the safety of your pets. I have never known a person who loves dogs as much as Maddie and whom dogs seem to bond to immediately.
