Talita DeStefani Beauty Lounge is receiving a makeover, moving to a new location on the Vineyard.
Ms. DeStafini’s salon has anchored a site on State Road in Vineyard Haven for over a decade. An official opening for a larger Beach Street location is planned for early December.
She said her team has been hard at work on the renovation.
“I’ve been in this little place for such a long time and when I started it was two rooms,” she said. “I kept taking rooms at the building to grow the business. It has been a crazy time. I’ve rented this space for over a year and a half now and just now we’re opening and I’m very excited.”
Ms. DeStefani caters to both English speaking and Portuguese speaking clients. The services will remain largely the same in the new location, she said, focusing on hair, nails, waxing, eyelashes and wedding makeup.
This week there was a launch party for friends and family to help celebrate the move.
“It’s definitely a modern salon and something you’ve never seen on the Island,” Ms. DeStefani said. “I’m excited for everyone to come in and see it because I worked my heart out to make this dream come true.”
A focus of the renovation was creating easier access for her older clients.
“The accessibility for wheelchairs wasn’t great so everything in this new place is going to be perfect because it’s everything under code and has the right things for everyone to feel comfortable coming in and out with no problem,” she said.
Ms. DeStefani hopes the new space will only add to her lifelong passion for beauty.
“I’m such a positive person and I like to make women feel beautiful and confident and this space is definitely for that purpose.”
