The Martha’s Vineyard Rod and Gun Club will begin its winter fly-tying get-togethers on Tuesday Feb. 4. The weekly events are from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will continue through March, helping experienced and novice fly-tyers learn new skills and swap techniques.
The sessions are organized by Island fly fisherman Cooper Gilkes. Participants of all skill levels are welcome and each week consists of following the lead of one tier who instructs on how to tie a specific fly.
Fly tiers are responsible for providing their materials.
The Rod and Gun Club is located off Third street in Edgartown. The cost is $10 per session (no fee for students).
