The engagement of Sydney Rosenberg McAuliffe and Charles Andreas Cunningham has been formally announced by Sydney's parents, Robin Rosenberg and Michael McAuliffe, of North Palm Beach and Chilmark, and the bridegroom's parents Daphne and John Cunningham of Newton and Chilmark.

The bridegroom is the son of Daphne and John Cunningham of Newton and Chilmark.

Ms. McAuliffe, originally from West Palm Beach, Fla., is the granddaughter of the late Dr. Marvin Rosenberg and Mrs. Baylie Rosenberg of Palm Beach, as well as the late Mr. John McAuliffe and Mrs. Jane McAuliffe of Boerne, Texas. She attended Palm Beach Day School and Dreyfoos School of the Arts, and she is a graduate of Duke University. She is currently enrolled at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Mr. Cunningham attended Evanston Township High School, graduated from Tufts University, and is also currently attending the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He is the grandson of Mr. John Cunningham and Mrs. Jane Cunningham of McLean, Va., and the late Mr. Frank Hoch and Mrs. Lisina Hoch of Irvington, N.Y.

The couple is planning a June wedding in Chilmark on Martha’s Vineyard, where they first met on a Cape Air flight over nine years ago.
