Meanwhile, I must say how delightful it is for me to see and hear the school busses come and go again. And to hear the foghorns. And to hear the boat whistles. The only Island sound I don’t like hearing is the medical helicopter taking one of our residents to Massachusetts General in Boston.

Cronig’s Market in West Tisbury now announces it will be closed on Sundays for their winter schedule.

Kimberly Stokes Beal and Chris Voight made a whirlwind visit to her Island home in Vineyard Haven by bus from Connecticut this past weekend.

The fishing Derby began on Sunday. Good luck everyone.

Happy New Year to all who celebrate Rosh Hashanah.

Our annual Darkness into Light observance for suicide prevention is this Saturday. There will be a celebration of L=life for Clarence (Trip) Barnes at the Agricultural Hall on Sunday, Sept. 27, beginning at 2 p.m.

Continued get well wishes for Susan Shea. The good news is Dolores Borza’s son and grandson are both home from the hospital after their e-bike accident. Both are recovering.

If I missed your September birthdays many happy returns.
