Heather MacDonald Norton will be the recipient of the Society of Camera Operators Lifetime Achievement Award for Camera Technicians in Los Angeles. Ms. Norton got her start acting in productions on the Vineyard and then after graduating from Barnard College trained as a camera operator.

Over the years she has served as a camera assistant on numerous movies.

The ceremony takes place in Los Angeles on Jan. 18.
