The Chappaquiddick ferry will begin running on the hour in order to protect the captains during the pandemic, Edgartown selectmen said at a meeting Monday. Ferry service will run hourly, with the captain on duty the entire time in the event of an emergency or a backup of cars. Early morning ferry service will begin also for seniors to go grocery shopping (all Island grocery stores are holding early morning hours for people over the age of 60). The new ferry schedule will remain in effect until April 25 and then will be re-evaluated, selectmen said.
Vehicles will be unable to get back and forth from Chappaquiddick aboard the ferry from 9 a.m. May...
