Cape Cod Community College is currently enrolling students on Martha’s Vineyard for an EMT class beginning Jan. 25, 2021.

Classes will run online through Zoom Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with in-person lab on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The course will end approximately the second week of May, depending on state practical testing dates, according to an announcement from the college.

The course is designed to train participants to work with Island agencies that provide emergency medical services: first-aid procedures, operation of emergency equipment and knowledge of communications systems associated with emergency and rescue operations, according to the announcement.

Students are eligible for state and national certification upon successful completion of the course and state examination. Tuition is around $1500, depending on study material preferences. Payment plans are available through 4C’s and there is the possibility of sponsorships from towns EMS services, according to the announcement.
