Patricia (Trish) Duncan died peacefully on Dec. 5 in Hyannis. She was 72.
Trish was born in Paterson, N.J., and spent most of her childhood on Martha’s Vineyard. After graduating from high school, she moved to Alamosa, Colo., to attend Adams State College. She lived in Colorado for many years, and eventually moved back to the Vineyard, a place she loved.
Trish wore many hats during her lifetime. An avid reader, she eventually found her dream job working at the Oak Bluffs Public Library. Prior to that, she held various jobs, ranging from cleaning homes, to working at Splashland in Alamosa, to movie theatres on the Vineyard. She was a caring mother and friend, and was always willing to give what she could to others.
She was predeceased by her mother, Lucille Niemiec and her brother John Niemiec. She is survived by include her brother Edward Niemiec; sons Jason Duncan, Matthew Duncan and William Duncan; and four grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Oak Bluffs Public Library.
