The weather is a little warmer, it is staying lighter out, I have a crocus blooming in my garden, and I am seeing signs of more and daffodils. I know it is March and anything can happen, but these little signs of spring make you feel good.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Valentina Santana, who celebrated March 1; Emily Alimateia, March 2; Kessia Lopes and Callie Oteri, March 3; and to Lethicia Diniz, who celebrated March 4.

Special birthday wishes go out to Linda Condlin who celebrated a milestone birthday on Feb. 27.

I got my horse Tomahawk when I was 14 years old. He was probably three. We didn’t know his exact age but we knew he was young.

Tomahawk and I grew up together. We were at Featherstone Farm and I spent all my teenage years there, much to my parent’s delight, riding and giving lessons and just being a teenager. So, when I look at my friends pictures on Facebook with their kids at a farm it makes me smile. Cindy Enos Bonnell was at Bittersweet Farm with her daughter Elyse, who now has a baby, Cora, who is just about a year old and has already sat on a horse. It is in her blood and she will be a natural.

As I am scrolling down there is Bethany Scanlon, who rode at a young age, with her daughter Avery, who is four and she is leading a pony.

Ella Blodgett, who is now 14, goes with her mother Ellen to feed their horses and rides, and does archery on horseback, thanks to Anne Parsons. If they have half the experience the older generation had, they will be all the better for it.

Jon, Tina, J.J. and Audrey Polleys took a quick drive to Florida and stayed outside Animal Kingdom. While there Jon celebrated his birthday and took in Cape Canaveral. They enjoyed the animals every morning and never knew who was going to great them.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
