Island health officials are ramping up their vaccination efforts, with the Covid-19 mobile vaccine bus making a return to the Island this weekend and separate pop-up clinics scheduled at two more rural locations on the Island.
The bus, made possible through a partnership with Island Health Care, the boards of health and the state Department of Public Health, will arrive Saturday, June 5 and depart Wednesday, June 9, making daily stops at various down-Island locations. The bus offers free, walk-in Pfizer and one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Only the Pfizer vaccine is available to children 12 years and older.
The hospital has also set up two vaccination clinics for Tuesday, June 22 at the Chilmark and Chappaquiddick community centers in an effort to reach unvaccinated Islanders.
The Chappaquiddick clinic is from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the Chilmark clinic is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Signups are available on the community center websites, although walk-in appointments are also available.
