There was really nice weather throughout the week, feeling summer-like. The roses and rhododendron are in full bloom. The Aquinnah Shop is open on weekends for take-out.

A reminder: the annual town meeting will convene on Saturday, June 19 at 3 p.m. at the Aquinnah fire station.

Out House Pottery has a new selection of ceramic mugs and bowls at the State Road location. Nice for a last-minute birthday gift or a Father’s Day gift.

Welcome to Al Alley, who has arrived from his winter abode in Florida. He will spend the next few months between his parents’ homes, Forrest Alley’s in Aquinnah and Emily Frank’s in Tisbury. He is looking forward to spending time with his many cousins as well.

I caught up with Gary and Lisa Foster the other evening. They have spent most of the past year and a half at their Aquinnah home. Their daughter Kayla is working at the Outermost Inn for the summer. Gary is enjoying his duties on the Martha’s Vineyard Community Services board.

All the best to Caetlyn Hutchinson and John Gaskill at their wedding on June 19. Caetlyn is the daughter of Steve Hutchinson and Gabriella Camilleri and the late Amanda Hutchinson. John is the son of David Gaskill and Ellen Sullivan Gaskill.

Congratulations to Menasha Leport, daughter of Darren and Nancy, upon her graduation from Tabor Academy. Menasha will be heading to Brown University in September.

Welcome to Franjo Rados of Zagreb, Croatia. He has joined the Manning family while working at Cliffhangers for the summer. This is his first visit to the United States and he is enjoying the experience thus far.

Sincere condolences to the family and friends of Dennis Norton. He was my schoolmate at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. It was always nice to catch up with Dennis on his trips to Menemsha.

Across the channel at U.S. Coast Guard station Menemsha, Boatswain’s Mate Two Shane Mullen has re-enlisted. Justin Roberts has qualified as a boarding team and boat crew member.
