Island health officials said 16 people tested positive for Covid-19 during the week ending Saturday, Nov. 13, ending three weeks of declining numbers.

Eleven of the cases were in fully vaccinated individuals, four were unvaccinated and the vaccination status of one was unknown.

The new cases were distributed across all age groups. Three were under age 20, four under 40, four under 60 and two over 70. Thirteen of the cases were symptomatic, two were asymptomatic and one was unknown.

New cases reached a three-month low of four for the week ending Nov. 6. The Island boards of provide a weekly update of new cases every Monday.

Meanwhile, the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital began its rollout of pediatric vaccines last week, with the first shots administered to children on Thursday.

Vaccine appointments for adults and children can be scheduled on the hospital website https://mvhospital.org/. The hospital is scheduling first, second and booster shots for Moderna and Pfizer vaccines for people who are eligible. Johnson & Johnson booster shots are also being administered to eligible patients.
