Diane Brickman Shulman died on May 29 in Reno, Nev. She was 86 and had a long family legacy on the Vineyard.

After a brief illness and a short stay in hospice, Diane chose to manage the end of her life with the same fierce command she did everything else — and as usual, in her own way. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren both present and future will miss the love and wisdom . . . and very strong opinions she shared with them all.
