Catherine Roselyn Kerr Browne of Vineyard Haven died peacefully on July 20. She was 90.
She was the wife of the late Dr. Faust C. Browne of Indian Harbor Beach, Fla. and Needham.
She was born on July 16, 1932 in Boston to William and Marion Kerr. She grew up in Belmont and Rochester, N.Y. with her older sister, the late Marion Kerr Nawn, and her younger brothers Thomas Kerr and William Kerr Jr.
She found pleasure in the simple things: cards, king of the mountain, show tunes, art, music, sports and books.
She had the golden touch. She was the party wherever she went and was beloved by all: adults, children, animals. But none so dearly as her own children and grandchildren, who she loved and revered as if every day was Christmas, when they were together. She loved her family and friends unconditionally. She set the example for others to be better mothers, fathers and humans.
Nothing was more important to her than kindness, peace, laughter and helping others. She demonstrated this in her career as a registered nurse and then, upon retirement, as a volunteer who taught children to read.
She will be missed beyond words. She is survived by her daughters Marion of Vineyard Haven and her husband George, Gretchen of Durham, N.H. and
her husband David, Stacey of Brooklyn, N.Y., Erica (Terry) of Palm Bay, Fla. and her spouse Terry; her sons Faust Jr. of Melbourne, Fla. and Dietrich of Melbourne, Fla. and his wife Kristen; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and man nieces and nephews.
Her service was held privately.
Memorial donations may be made to the Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living.
