The Vineyard Gazette Media Group this week announced an expansion of its sales and marketing team and promoted longtime business manager Sarah Gifford to general manager.

Ms. Gifford joined the Vineyard Gazette in 2006 and has served in various capacities, including classified ad manager, circulation manager and bookkeeper. As general manager of the media group, she oversees finance, circulation, production, distribution and the printing operation, and reports to publisher Jane Seagrave. She and her husband Jake own The Lazy Frog toy store in Oak Bluffs.

Michelle Gittlen, an attorney whose family acquired a home and recently moved to the Island full-time, has joined the media group as director of development, a new position. Ms. Gittlen has represented leading sports figures in the development and promotion of their charitable activities. She reports to Skip Finley, director of sales and marketing.

Serena Ward has joined the media group as an account manager. Previously, she was a sales representative for Martha’s Vineyard Online (now welcometomarthasvineyard.com) when it was acquired by the Gazette in 2017, and later served as business manager for Working Earth Gardening & Landscaping. Most recently she has worked as a real estate agent. She reports to sales manager Frederica Carpenter.

In addition to the Vineyard Gazette, the Vineyard Gazette Media Group publishes Martha’s Vineyard and Island Weddings magazines and more than a dozen other print and online publications.
