Pamela Gifford Campagna of Hamden, Conn. died Oct. 4 at the Westview Villa in East Providence, R.I. She was 75.

She was the wife of Dr. Anthony Campagna.

She was born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late William and Cynthia Trull Gifford, granddaughter of Flavel and Doris Cottle Gifford of West Tisbury and of Carlton and Rosmond Trull of Fairhaven. She was the great-granddaughter of George Gordon and Georgene Mayhew Gifford, and the great-great-grandniece of William J. Rotch, who was know as the father of West Tisbury.

Pam was deeply attached to the Island. She spent as much time as her professional schedule permitted at the family home in West Tisbury that was designed and built by her great-grandfather. She often wore a pendant bearing the town seal, also designed by George Gordon Gifford, who was the town clerk of West Tisbury for 50 years.

She was an elementary school teacher and a licensed clinical social worker. She and her husband were the co-creators and co-directors of Connecticut’s juvenile court-based assessment service, a position she held for 25 years.

Pam is survived by her husband Dr. Anthony Campagna, their daughter Amy Alyssa Campagna Punchak and her husband Alexander of Providence, R.I. and their children, Vivian Punchak, Simone Punchak and Oscar Punchak

She is also survived by her siblings, Carton Barrett and his wife Rachel of Virginia, Christine Lass and her husband Walter of Warwick, R.I., John Barrett and his wife Pamela of Chicopee, and Phillip Barrett and his wife Erin of Orange Park, Fla.
