Robert Francis Gossett Jr., formerly of Edgartown, New York city and San Antonio, Tex., died peacefully in his sleep on Oct. 30. He was 78.

For more than a decade he loved the summers he spent on Martha’s Vineyard and the friends he made here.

He is survived by his sons Robert Francis Gossett 3rd and Frank Morgan Gillespie Gossett, both of New York city. He was predeceased by his wife Paula, to whom he was married for 45 years.

He was interred in Devine, Tex. alongside his wife.
