Nomination papers to run for elected office in several Island towns are available at their respective town halls, with the first submission deadlines coming up later this month.
In West Tisbury, a one-year term on the board of health and a three year term on the finance committee are both currently vacant, and individuals can also file papers to challenge incumbents who sit on a range of town bodies. Papers must be submitted to the town clerk’s office by Feb 23.
Aquinnah, meanwhile, has nomination papers available for the town select board, board of health and two seats on the planning board, as well as for the position of town clerk and library trustee.
Chilmark also has nomination papers available, with an upcoming vacancy on the town select board. Papers for the board of assessors, board of health, cemetery commission, finance committee, and planning board are all available, as well as for the positions of library trustee, fence viewer, surveyor of wood, and tree warden.
The deadline to submit papers in Chilmark is March 8.
In Oak Bluffs, two positions on the town select board are up for grabs. Papers are also available for the board of health, cemetery commission, finance committee, park commission, planning board, school committee, and for the positions of constable, town clerk, wastewater commissioners and water district commissioner.

In Tisbury, nomination papers are available for numerous positions, including town moderator, town clerk, constable, assessor, library trustee, select board, board of assessors, board of health, school committee, water commission, planning board, finance and advisory committee and land bank commissioner. Nomination papers must be returned to the town clerk’s office by March 21.
In Edgartown, nomination papers must be submitted by Feb. 23 for open positions and to challenge incumbents, including the select board, board of assessors, board of health, planning board, school committee, library trust, parks commission, wastewater treatment commission, water commission and financial advisory committee.
