Eight Island cultural organizations are among the awardees designated by the Mass Cultural Council to receive FY23 Festivals and Projects grant funding. Each award is made at the level of $2,500 to be used for publicly-available cultural projects, programs and festivals.

The local awardees are Aquinnah Artisans, Aquinnah Cultural Center, Featherstone Center for the Arts, Martha’s Vineyard Museum, The Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival, Vineyard Gazette and the Vineyard Haven Harbor Cultural District.

Mass Cultural Council is an independent state agency that bolsters the creative and cultural sector. For fiscal year 2023, the council is awarding a total of $1,850,000 to 740 organizations statewide. Fifty-two per cent of the 2023 festivals and projects category recipients are receiving a Mass Cultural Council grant for the first time.
