On Saturday morning, Circuit avenue in Oak Bluffs will once again host the Reds and Red Sox, the Mets and Marlins, along with the Diamondbacks and Dodgers, to name just a few of the big name teams that will parade through town.
And although there will be major league talent on display it will be packaged in smaller bodies, some with shirts dangling down to the knees.
Welcome back Little League season.
Opening day begins with kids from T-ball to the Majors gathering at the Oak Bluffs police station at 9:30 a.m. and parading up Circuit avenue all the way to Veira Park.
From there everyone heads over to Penn Field, with team introductions beginning at 10:30 a.m.
And after the ceremonial first pitch and national anthem, it is time to play ball. Games take place all over the Island, at Penn and Viera fields, as well as Edgartown and West Tisbury locations.
