Cloud cover and humidity has been the weather and it is forecasted for the future. We try to make the best of it as there is nothing we can do to improve it.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Shyanne Batchelder on July 13. Natalia BenDavid, Jacob Branca, Ronan Murphy and Katelyn Tankersley all celebrate their day on July 14.

Because I work during the day, I am not out and about but I hear the traffic is beyond unreal. We all know that when the sun is not shining, and you need something to do, a little retail therapy will always make you smile and feel better.

The Portuguese Feast is happening this weekend. The Holy Ghost Society has not had a Feast since before Covid, so a lot of people are looking forward to all the treats they provide. I hope you all can participate because most of the money they make goes to scholarships for our Island kids. They also are very generous to those who may need help during the year because of sickness or other emergency situations.

We are very lucky that these ladies and gentlemen put a lot of effort into this event. It is a great evening, finishing with the parade on Sunday.

All winter my niece Debbie and I dined out every Wednesday. We tried to hit places we would not normally go to in the summer, and we had a great time.

Now that it is busier, we are doing our favorite thing, which is the Concerts on the Lawn at the library. Willy Mason played the first concert on the lawn. We enjoyed treats from Soigne for dinner as we watched the concert. I see lobster rolls and chowder for future concerts. The gentleman in front of us was enjoying little necks on the half shell and I thought that it was a great idea. I even caught a glimpse of Pat Tyra but did not get to talk to her but now I know she is here.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
