We have a surprising adoption to report. Cloud, the elderly shelter cat, has gone to a new home. Hope all works out for this sweet boy.
Teddy desperately needs a home as he’s been here far too long. He is a medium-sized, short-coated, mixed breed who looks to have some hound in him. His markings are white and brindle and he’s a happy, playful boy who loves his toys. During his time here, Teddy is being trained by Jeremy Jones and he’s become a rock star. However, he is leery of meeting strangers, but once he gets to know you he’s back to being a rock star. He would also do best in a home without cats.
Unfortunately, Smokey and Bandit's adoption fell through. They are two-year-old, medium-haired, male black cats. These boys are bonded brothers so we would like them to be rehomed together, but if that’s not possible it isn’t a deal breaker.
We also have a stunning, 13-year-old, long-haired female cat named Jasmine. Her eyes are green and her coloring is dilute calico. She’s up-to-date and ready to go.
Evie Mc Chi Chi is a black, Dutch lop-eared female rabbit. She is a princess and comes with a three-tier cage/house on wheels that is easy to assemble. Evie is currently with her family so please contact the shelter if you would like to make an appointment to meet her.
Also still available are Peter and Teddy, nine-month-old, black male rabbits. They’ve been hand raised and are litter box-trained. Both are very friendly and love to be held and cuddled. And they’re happy living indoors or out.
The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours.
The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662.
