William F. Renz of Palm Coast, Fla. died on August 3, three days short of his 71st birthday.

He was the floral manager for several shops including Albertsons and Winn Dixie. He and his husband Bob owned and operated By-Gone Days Antiques and Collectibles for many years before retiring and traveling all 50 states in the country. Their last trip was to the Azores and Italy, where their grandparents were born. Bill’s parents were born in Oak Bluffs.

Bill is survived by his husband Robert Metell Bender, who lived on the Vineyard for many years before moving to Florida; his sister Cora A. Payne; his brother Richard A. Renz; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visiting hours will be held at Chapman Funerals and Cremations in Oak Bluffs on Wednesday, August 16, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 22 Massasoit avenue in Oak Bluffs. He will be interred at Oak Grove Cemetery in Vineyard Haven.
