Scott Harrell Robinson — a dear friend, kind soul and Oak Bluffs resident — died Nov. 14. He was 58.

He was born and grew up in Middlebury, Conn. He attended the Taft School in Watertown, Conn. and graduated in 1983. He subsequently received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Connecticut in Storrs.

Scott settled into the role of merchant. He opened and successfully ran his store Slight Indulgence in Oak Bluffs and Edgartown for more than 20 years, offering fine handmade jewelry, Vineyard-style clothing and other unique items sure to get people’s attention.

He loved music and was a lifelong fan of the Grateful Dead. He was also a fantastic skier and advanced scuba diver.

Scott was predeceased by his parents Phil and Gwen Robinson. He is survived by his brother Mark Robinson, goddaughter Alexandra C. Loyot and more friends than you can count. He was loved and cherished by many people on Martha’s Vineyard and all who knew him in other places from his life.

A celebration of Scott’s life will be held on the Vineyard in spring 2024.
