Martha's Vineyard magazine is seeking an experienced graphic designer with a strong background in publication design and photo editing to succeed our longtime art director, who is retiring.

• Overall graphic design and page layout (seven editions per year).
• Collaborating with the magazine’s editors to develop story ideas and concepts. 
• Assigning, directing, and managing freelance photographers and illustrators.
• Photography and art research and editing.
• Preparing page layout files for the printer.
• Managing the magazine’s photography and art budget

Requirements:

• A strong background in publication design and typography.
• Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
• Proven ability to collaborate with editors and clearly communicate with photographers and illustrators.
• Experience with digital design strongly preferred.

This is a year-round, full-time position, with excellent benefits. Candidates must be located on the Vineyard, though some work may be done remotely.
