William R. (Bill) Morgan, of Lakewood Ranch, Fla., died at Tidewell Hospice in Bradenton, Fla, on Tuesday, Dec. 24 surrounded by his loving family. He was 82.

Bill was the beloved husband of the late Kathleen T. (Schmitt) Morgan.

Bill was born on Nov. 1, 1942, in Pottsville, Pa., and was the son of the late Walter and Gladys (Stephenson) Morgan. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. He then began his lengthy career in sales, working in the technology industry at both IBM and Howard Systems.

He loved the outdoors, including fishing and riding his bike. He was an avid golfer and made many lifelong friends on the golf course. He also loved spending time on Martha’s Vineyard. Above all, family was the most important thing in his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughter Heather Haas and her husband Christopher of Simsbury, Conn.; his son Jason Morgan and his wife Jennifer of Hingham; his sister Diane Cake and her husband Edward of Chester, Va.; and his grandchildren Andrew Morgan, Eliza Morgan, Zach Morgan, Bella Morgan, Efa Morgan and Ben Haas.

Sadly, in addition to Kathy and his parents, Bill was predeceased by his granddaughter Maddy Haas and his brother Gary Morgan.

A celebration of life and memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 17

from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lakewood Ranch Country Club, 7650 Legacy Boulevard, Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
