Adelbert (Buddy) L. Sylvia of Edgartown, died on Oct. 27. He was 78.

Buddy is survived by his loving wife Gloria J. (King) Sylvia and a son, Gary Sylvia, of Edgartown. He was the father of the late Dennis W. Sylvia.

He leaves a sister, Shirley Pachico of Oak Bluffs, seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Vineyard Haven, officiated by the Rev. Ellen Tatreau. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
