Irma Guigni Kreamer was born on March 30, 1922 and died on Jan. 21 in Phoenix, Md. She was 90 years old. She grew up in Paterson, N.J., the daughter of Joseph and Maria Nicoletti.
Irma was an excellent musician, trained to play classical piano and sing soprano. During World War II, she put her keyboard skills to use for the US Navy working at Wright Aeronautical, where she met Duncan Kreamer, her husband of 67 years. After the war she helped Duncan build his law practice and raise their son, Robert. They lived first in Patterson and then in Upper Saddle River, N.J.
Irma and Duncan began summering on Martha’s Vineyard in 1952 in Oak Bluffs. In the 1970s they permanently moved to the Island and lived in Vineyard Haven.
Irma was an active volunteer at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital and the Martha’s Vineyard Community Services Thrift Shop in Vineyard Haven. She was also a multi-year blue ribbon recipient for baking at the annual Agricultural Fair, and a beautiful contributor to church and tabernacle choirs across the Island.
Irma is survived by her loving son, Robert A. Kreamer, Esq,. and his wife, Nan, of Phoenix, Md.; grandchildren Robert N. Kreamer and his wife, Marisa, of Beverly Hills, Calif., and Elizabeth K. Wittstadt and her husband, Kurt, of Parkville, Md.; great-grandchildren Kurt Wittstadt of Parkville, Md. and Carolina M. Kreamer of Beverly Hills, Calif; and niece Barbara Veit of Wycoff, N.J. Irma will be interred at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Paterson, N.J.
