Silly Shakespeare Is Brain Candy

Where can you watch trained professionals and not-even-potty-trained extras take the stage together? The Fabulists’ theatre for kids, that’s where.

First up for the season is Midsummer Magic: A Fabulists Shakespeare Adventure. The production is brought to us by the Vineyard Playhouse and takes place each Saturday at the Tashmoo Overlook off State Road in Vineyard Haven. It involves a loose script, improvisation and audience of all ages participation. The setting couldn’t be more perfect, either: A theatre-in-the-round nestled amidst the woods where fairies and wood sprites keep the mosquitoes and skunks at bay.

Performances take place all summer long, every Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. Midsummer Magic opens the season on July 2 and again on July 9.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and are available day of the show, cash or check only. Children under the age of two are free.
