Please Adopt Us

The cast of characters at the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard remains pretty much the same as last week; if you are thinking about adopting a cat or one of our two dogs, please stop by the shelter and give our cats a hug and the dogs a pat — they love the attention and they all need to find good homes.

The cats are: Cyrus, a big, black. lovable boy; little Pearl, an elderly, sweet, all-white cat; Moonlight, a tabby and white who loves to play; Cora, a purebred Persian who has the most beautiful gray and white coat; little Debbie, the baby of the group who is so affectionate; and Miss Misty, an FIV positive tabby who is very healthy and needs to find a home without other animals and be an indoor only cat.

The dogs are P.J., the Staffordshire terrier who has won the hearts of the staff but needs a home of her own, and Vito, the brown and white beagle who is full of energy and loves walks with our volunteers.

And speaking of volunteers — we need more of them for the afternoons. Please call the shelter at 508-627-8662 or stop by and talk with Lisa about giving us a few hours of much-needed volunteer time.

Dr. Roger Williams of the Vineyard Vet Clinic will give a seminar on Saturday, March 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the care of cats and dogs. He will be happy to answer your questions, but this time please do not bring your pets with you. Call the shelter for more information.
