Jean Winter Shipley died Jan. 3.

The family spent 25 wonderful summers at their home in Waterview Farm. They were charter members of Farm Neck Golf Club. It was on this course where Jean broke 100 for the first time.

She was married to Morgan Bowman Shipley for over 60 years. They met in Paris at the end of World War II while Jean served in the American Red Cross and Mr. Shipley served in the infantry.

They retired to Vero Beach, Fla., where a memorial service will be held at a later date at the First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters, Susan Downey of Stroudsburg, Pa. and Sally Ann Shipley of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren James, Jeffrey, Jennifer Downey and great-granddaughter Maeve Downey.
