Cat in the Hat Is Back
The Edgartown School theatre department presents Seussical the Musical Jr. Everyone’s favorite hat-wearing cat is the mischievous master of ceremonies, helping weave together the adventures of two original thinkers upon whose misunderstood and resented creativity much depends. The strength of Dr. Seuss’s message, the fun of his wordplay, and the delightful collision of musical styles — from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and rhythm and blues to funk — make for a rollicking good time for audiences of all ages. The show is directed by Beth Carr and Donna Swift and performed by talented Edgartown students in grades four through eight. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. tonight and tomorrow night and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $6 for students, $8 for adults and $25 for the family. There is a special dinner theatre on Saturday night with seating at 6:15 p.m. For information call 508-627-3316.
