Vineyard Haven resident Clea C. Baumhofer is one of three Falmouth Academy seniors named a semifinalist in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship program.

Clea, the daughter of Kim and Mark Baumhofer, has been at Falmouth Academy since seventh grade. She is a member of the National Honor Society and of the Falmouth Academy orchestra, where she plays the violin. She also plays basketball and has acted in several school drama productions. She is one of six members of the Falmouth Academy remotely operated vehicle team.

Clea earned the semifinalist honor as a result of her high scores on the 2008 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test taken last fall.
