Yes We Have No Bananas, at 697 State Road, will host a jewelry trunk show opening reception on Thursday, July 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. Partial proceeds from the show will help to raise money and awareness for the American Red Cross.
“The Red Cross provides critical programs that help thousands of people throughout the Cape and Islands,” said Ellen Wolfe, co-owner with Judy Hartford of Bananas and sole proprietor of Once in a Blue Moon in Edgartown. “We hope Vineyard residents and visitors alike will come out this weekend to purchase these one-of-a-kind pieces while providing support for the Red Cross at the same time.”
The jewelry show is comprised of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and chokers, ranging in price from an affordable $50 to well over $1,000 for a stunning neck collar and “bib” of gunmetal grey crystal strands. All of the artistic jewelry pieces were created by internationally-known Danish design duo Gerda and Nicolai Monies. The pieces are made from natural materials including wood; water buffalo horn and nail; bone; amber and other semi-precious gems; and man-made materials such as clear and colored resins.
The jewelry show will continue Friday through Sunday, August 1 to 3, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
